Guys, just wanted to know what most of you set your sensitivity percent to on your LCDs? What do you find to be the best for showing fish in arc's but yet not to much cluter?
Thanks,
Larry

Larry,
A good way to set the settings on this depth finder work for all models.
Set the settings to manual.
Set the range, so that you can get at least twice the bottom depth displayed on the screen.

Began turning up the gain - starting at minimum, until you can see a good bottom return. You will notice that when you get this bottom return, initially, the rest of the screen will be quite clear.

Continue to increse the gain, until you get a 2nd bottom reading at double the real bottom depth. This is called the double false bottom.
Now, if you look at the area of the screen, between the top of the water, and the real bottom, you will find that you might have some clutter, and noise, but you are basically at the point of the best sensitivity for that depth. Leave the gain setting at that point.

Then, if you would like you can turn the range setting back so that you are only seeing the one bottom line on the screen. There will be a bit of clutter on the screen, but this is the level that you need, to be able to see all of the fisn, and bait action.

Take care

p.s.

To verify these settings - at the water depth that you are fishing -- while keeping the boat anchored and still -- drip a 1/16th oz or 1/32nd oz jig - tied to the end of your line - directly over the boat - such that the jig can be seen by the transducer cone on the way to the bottom. If you have the gain, range and other settings set correctly, you should see the jig , displayed as a solid line falling all the way to the bottom. then if you lift and drop the jig, you should see this action as a rising and falling line, displayed on your depth finder.

If you can't see the jig, you are either getting outside the cone angle of the transducer, due to jig or boat movement, or the settings of the depth finder are incorrect.

Sounds like crap, REW unless you use this unit dont post bad advice. This unit auto ranges That means no echo is seen on the screen. Average I use with this unit is 77% on sensi. This will show some surface but good detail on the bottom.
25% on the grayline. Keep it there. Set your contrast and B light
for the days fishing.

This unit does not operate in a manual mode or is the sensitivity alone mnaual operable? ASP Auto Signal Proceessing
does a fine job but it hides the thermoclines. The setting sens will vary for arches and bottom seperation. 75% is a good amount though I know a lot of guys use practically 100% thats too much going on for me unless ice fishing. Manual graph settings are where its at unless dealing with extreme depth changes then you have your bottom tracking lock in at certain depth and when you move deeper you show no bottom. The double bottom read out is a neat trick from the old flasher days and it still works with LCD as well. Small fish flat to bottom often show up in the second bar as a light series of drips "down"
Love my Eagles, just got a new "quiet one" Mr. Cooley's got my old one, anchors away....

Pro,
Sorry that I have to respectfully disgree with your statement.
I use this unit all the time, and - at least my unit - works exactly as I described.

Give it a try, you might find that it works for you as well.

Take care

Yes, work down the menus to a setup. grayline and sensi can be set independentlyby percentage.
