At first glance, it appears that Wildlife Forever may have some huge surprises for us at the rescheduled MWC championship in October.
Read between the lines. Talk about stronger competition, sacrifices that have to be made and an enhanced payout can mean just one thing -- that they are planning to combine last year's championship qualifers with this year's championship qualifiers for one tournament.
I appreciate the fact that WF is trying to make the best of a bad situation. I don't appreciate the fact that it could cost me and my partner a lot of time and money. Like many of you, we have expended the resources and effort to qualify for both championships. Therefore, we should have two opportunities to compete for the MWC championship.
What if the same team is qualified for 2000 and 2001? Can the expanded championship be run concurrently as two separate tournaments with a team's weight counting both ways? What about the guys who changed partners and qualified both years?
I have a sinking feeling that the anglers are going to take this one in the shorts unless we unite and speak up now.
What does everybody else think?

well, i'm not sure if they are going to do that. they better not, right now the mwc is on thin ice, i think we need to contact pete at the mwc and find out whats up. i just hope the mwc tells us veteran anglers what there plans are now we don't need anymore suprises. to combine 2 championships i don't think so!

Did you try contacting Pete before you came to this conclussion on your own?

Don't you all just love rampant speculation.

At this early stage of the replanning (gee whiz it's only been a couple of days), all I will say is that nothing will be announced, confirmed or denied until all the t's are crossed and the i's dotted and any-and-all questions can be answered. We hope to be able to do that in a timely manner.

To do otherwise would be foolish and cause more anxiety for anglers and Wildlife Forever.

Please feel free to continue commenting on this string or any other. Just know that there is nothing to be said at this point, so I probably won't be posting much on this issue.

I've tried to make this a straightforward message. No doubt some will read something between the lines that isn't there.

There is absolutely no way they can combine the two. I can't even
imagine the fall out from that!!! You don't change the rules in the middle of the game.
