Lake Sharpe activity right now

Hey, does anyone have any information on Lake Sharpe action right now? I am scheduled for a photo shoot and want to know what size fish to expect and other details of the area, including what they are gettin' them on. Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can expect walleye from 24inches on down,larger females are possible of course,but not common.The State record came out of Lake Sharpe at 15.3,but a walleye of that size would be more than noteworthy.Most action on Sharpe is around the bridges between FT Pierre,and Pierre using jigs in a vertical application.The WestBend,and North BEND area could take off at anytime,mostly fishing long tapering gravel points,anywhere from 50ft on down to 1ft.Some stable weather lasting more than one day would greatly improve all fishing on the whole Missouri river system in South Dakota.

The lower end of Lake Sharp was completely frozen over with ice looking upstream as far as one could see from Big Bend Dam last weekend. No one on the ice as it was heaving and has to be getting rotten in places.

Information given on Westbend and Northbend was generaly speaking,ice cover on lower sharpe would rule out both, as soon as ice is gone,which should be anytime these tactics work well,the river is open at least to Antelope creek below the dam at Pierre,which also produces this time of year.

Put in at North Shore ramp today 4/17/01 open water to west bend,all ice was down by the dam. Worked the area by the graineries and pump station (no luck) my fault I guess they are there. wind was a little wild early after noon. so went below the dam. about 10 boats and no-one was having any luck. 1 rainbow was all I got. BUT!!!! it was great to be on the water!!
