As long as we don't get any more big rains we should be ok. The river will crest by tomorrow, giving us almost 4 weeks for the levels to go down. The current is raging right now, but when it goes down, it will be manageable.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Whether or not it is held, there are other events that will be happening prior to and after those dates on other waters that will warrant an excellent competitive field. Take the money out of it and rcl is garnering as many boats as Governor's Cups, Team Walleye tourneys, and other state circuits. Excellent competition, excellent waters, and no flooding. just my two cents worth.

report there is that it is supposed to crest at LAX tomorrow and take up to 3 weeks to bring water down to "tolerable" levels. assuming no huge rains or the such in the next few weeks. here's hoping for dry sunny skies in MN/WI for the next few. even though fishin as a co, have shined my own equipment, re lined all rods (13) and taken a fresh coat of wax of the 620 last week. wife is wondering why i am standing in boat in garage casting at lawn mower in corner?!?!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-01 AT 03:48AM (CST)[p]I think you'll be looking at oclose to three weeks to even drop below flood stage, but that's just an educated guess. It will then have to drop another 6 feet BFS to approach normal summer levels. On the other hand, if we don't get much rain up in the Chippewa River and MN River watersheds, then it will drop much more quickly.

My prediction is that you will still have extremely high water, during the RCL tournament.

four weeks?

I thought the tournament dates were 9-12 May. By my account that means 22 days to the start of the tournament. Is no one going early to prefish? It looks to me like it is going to be still above flood stage at least through practice and probably through the tournament. I remember in 93 when the water was high all summer long and the corp of engineers had no wake well into the summer. Probably out to thnk about rescheduling.

Good luck
