Underpowered Boats

Just an observation, but it seems to me that there are a lot of problem posts this time of year relating to new boats that are way underpowered. Maximum horsepower is not a necessity, but buyers are asking for trouble underpowering a boat. The issue is one of both safety and performance. Seems there are quite a few posts this week where the underlying problem is an underpowered boat.

I can understand loss of performance, with less power. But I think less power would be much safer. I have had many close calls with high speed boats that do not know how to control their power they have .

For some poeople under powering is the safe way to go.
