Kicker for my 16' Bass boat...decisions, decisions!

I've got a 16' Tracker Pro Deep V..I have a friend who's home is on a great Walleye trolling lake. Will be doing a lot of trolling this year.I don't want a motor that is too heavy or too big. I have thought about a 6hp two stroke (50:1)
I want to keep the price down cause' it will be used only occasionally. What brand is best? Is 6hp too small? Long shaft necessary? Where to find a good used one?....JM

A buddy of mine has a 16' boat and uses a 6 horse motor. His works great and he is able to achieve a range of speed from almost nothing to as fast as you would ever want to troll. For brands I like Evinrude and Mercury. In my neck of the woods(Minneapolis), Twin City Outboards is a good place to buy a used motor.
