Working with the Mississippi River Walleye Club and the Iowa DNR, September 8 - 9 are the new dates for this tournament.

Information packages will be sent to all those registered. The only other changes are that the rules meeting will be held at the weigh in site and a free BBQ will be provided afterwards.

The club tells me it should be an awesome bite.

For those already registered for Dubuque, hopefully these dates will work. If not, you can transfer to another tournament. To be fair, you also have the option to cancel. But you'll be missing a great event. I know how psyched the Mississippi River Walleye Club is about this event and I've never met another group of anglers so determined to ensure the "wow" factor.

If you need to make any changes, I will need your requests in writing (snail mail, email, fax).

To all those that have called over the past few days wanting to get into the Dubuque tournament, nows the time. You can register here on walleye central (it really works great) or send or fax in your hard copy entry form.

Planning on fishing the MWC but want to make sure this is the right date.I talked to the wildlife hq yesterday and they said that it was between two dates and didnt know for sure which it would be.

There is another tournament also scheduled for then and the Mississippi River Walleye Club working with them to ensure everything runs well and to consider various options.

BTW: Their permit is written for a maximum of 45 boats.

If this is the case I am not happy at all.I realize MWC had to find a new date for their tourney, but do you have to come in and walk all over a smaller tourney already scheduled?? Hope it doesen't get ugly////

The Mississippi Walleye Club and Wildlife Forever did not have much of a choice. Our weigh-in area is the Dubuque Greyhound Park and we had to work around their schedule. The Iowa DNR will not allow a Tournament in the Months of June, July and August, so the summer Months were out. We will do our best to work with the IWTT.

I DON'T THINK YOUR GOON HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ALOT OF BOAT FRO THE MWC TOURNEY. I ALREADY KNOW ABOUT 25 TEAMS THAT ARE GOING TO CANCEL. SO BE READY FOR ABOUT 35 TEAMS THAT IT

I think youll see alot of teams.I know I for one will fish it.Id much rather see it in Sept rather than april on that part of the river.Youll see alot more than 35 boats.Youll probably see that many in just locals.See ya there.

I'm with Perchjerker, it'll be a great bite but...I'm concerned about the conflict with two events going. This is a bit of a problem for those that might of wanted to fish both events. The IWTT teams work all season for their championship/team of the year and this is the last qualifier for the south division teams. The MWC teams are also faced with qualifying stress. There is a real potential for ramp and on-water conflicts so everyone is going to have to be professional and work this out.

I've been in Arkansas picking up my new boat, but I have been made aware of this situation while I was there. First I would encourage you to slow down and if you have not yet sent information about this, you had better wait to do so. I do not know if a permit has been granted you for that day, but one has been granted the IWTT for several months and I do not relish the idea of having MWC boats on the water during our prefishing and tournament days. Neither do IWTT contestants. We work hard to avoid other tournament date conflicts, including the MWC, when we schedule. This event has been scheduled since last September. I realize that this is a hardship due to high water, but I think it's deplorable that the MWC would schedule this right on top of ours at the same location, even the same boat ramp, without even contacting me. This took place before I left for AR and no one in the MWC contacted me. We don't feel that the MWC should try to come in and trample our event and I'm doubtful the the DNR will grant a permit without my consent. Additionally, there is no maximum on the number of boats our event is permitted for. We voluntarily put a 60-team limit on our events.

And here I thought it was the "locals" who caused all the
conflicts! Silly me!
