View Full Version : Hydraulic Surge Brakes Not Working
Need some help or advice on Ranger Trailer hydraulic surge brakes not working. I can hook to the trailer and backup (without the backup solenoid hooked up) and the brakes do not engage. The acutator tongue slides ok - the hydraulic oil reservoir is filled - all lines are coupled together (I have a removable tongue that has a quick coupler on it - I have uncoupled and recoupled it several times). Where do I start trouble shooting. Has anyone had similar problems.

Do you bleed the air after you re-hook the lines? I never take mine apart just because of having to do that everytime. Also , check to make sure that your brakes are adjusted right.

Call Ranger they will give you the help you need, ask for the trailer shop.
Also I have had 4 Ranger Trail trailers and have never had a problem with removeing the trailer tonge and geting air in the line, I remove it on average about 3 to 6 times per week with no problem.
