I am looking to buy ether a angler 1700 or a Mr. Pike 17. Can you tell me how you like your boat.

I bought a 1999 1700 Angler SS last year. I chose it over the Mr. Pike for the following reasons: 1) it was about $1000 less; 2) similar in length and width; and 3) I didn't need two live wells (I don't remember if the Mr. Pike has a baitwell, but I don't need one of those if it does. The one thing I like about the Mr. Pike is the in floor battery compartment and the IPS hull. In the 1700 Angler, I have a 24 volt bow mount and I have had the two batteries in the front compartment which makes it a little bow heavy. I'm due to replace my batteries and I am going to by a Trolling Thunder Pro-Pack and put it in the rear compartment since I'm running a Yamaha F100 (4-stroke) so there is no oil reservoir. The boat does everything I want it to. I know its not built as tough as a Pro V but I don't beat my boats so it should last me a long time. There is plenty of legroom in the bow and I'm 6'2". E-mail me if you have any specific questions.

The IPS is great and probably worth the 1000.00. I also didn't need two livewells but the MR Pike has loads of other storage. Also the livewells are prolong style with timers etc, if you need that. Either boat is great and you should be happy with what you decide

The back livewell holds nearly a case of longnecks, lunch and ice. I don't believe that I have ever put a fish in mine. I like the livewell up front for fish. Just a thought...

I was waiting to see if you had anything to say!
Longnecks??? LOL. You know, I have the same deal but only that I use the front livewell for my ice, no-necks, etc. Hey, did you ever get over to erie? I saw some of the boys were advising taking a bigger boat( fishing reports a month ago or so). I was kinda wondering how the boat was or is on that size lake? Let me know.<;{{{{{<<9 Mr.Pike

I had the same question. They are both rerally
nice boats but i went with Mr. pike. The pike is
wider, it also has a better haul. The extra livewell is a plus it will come in handy. Mine also has alot heavier trailer with brakes witch is very nice. Overal I think i made the right choice
Mr pike is well worth the extra money
