I am looking at getting a lund 1700ss or mr. pike next year and need input on 4 stroke motors. Whats better honda or yamaha in 75 to 100 h.p. thanks!

I like my Honda 75, but if I had to do it over I would definetely look closer at Honda. I would consider going to the Honda 90, because it weighs the same as the 75. Also, the Suzuki 70 has gotten good reviews.

You probably can not go wrong.

The twin 90 hp Honda's on my rig are great -- quiet and very fuel efficient. However, if they would have been available last fall I would have purchased Yamahas.

Main reason is the weight -- nearly 100# less per engine when comparing 90 Honda to 100 Yamaha. My guess is that since they are both 4 strokes, the quietness and fuel use would be the same.

Another factor would be availability of service facilities in your area. There are more Honda dealers in the midwest than Yam's - not so near salt water.
