I can't access the underneath of the bow to get to where my motor is mounted so I use motorguide rubber anchors that are shaped like a T.

The rubber keeps tearing and thus my motor almost will fall in the water some days.

Are there any tricks to using these rubber anchors?

I think you are using them incorrectly. The flat "T" section is supposed to go between the bottom of the trolling motor bracket and the decking and the "leg" of the "t" is supposed to be pushed through the hole in the decking. You will notice that there is an inserted nut on the bottom of the leg of the "t". Here is the process: drill your four (or more) holes in the decking based upon the hole pattern in the trolling motor bracket. Push the leg of the "t" through the hole, the flat top of the "T" will lat flat on the decking and will provide shock dampening for the bracket. Lay the trolling motor bracket on top of these "pads" and insert the long attachment bolts. These are long enough to grab the threads of the inserted nut. As you tighten the bolt the rubber "leg" of the "t" will collapse and be drawn up to the decking - does this make sense?

Sorry. I'm using them correctly, but the problem is that the leg starts to twist and then rip as I'm tightening it down. Before each trip, I have to tighten them down. Replacing the the anchors just may become an annual spring issue like packing hubs and new plugs etc.

Please advise.

Eric, try greasing the threads on the bolts. It is possible that they are binding with the threads on the nut and thus twisting the rubber leg rather than drawing it up as they are supposed to. Also make sure that the bolt threads in cleanly all the way - just run it in from the back side before you push the "T"'s into the decking. I think that the grease on the threads will do the trick.
