Anyone have any experience with the new minnkota genesis? Are they available?

Thanks.

I just brought the boat over to my dealer to have one installed. I looked into the shop and there were three boats in there having them put on. One of the techs that I know showed me how it works and I pretty much sat their with my mouth open. I did hear that the shaft problem has been taken care of. Good luck!!

I don't have the Genesis, but I have a lot of experience with MnKota. I think they are junk. Low end construction that have parts that rattle off. Before I would spend a grand on this junk, I would shop Pinpoint. Pinpoint is quality. Compare and you will see. I'm saving up right now. Anyone want a good deal on a MnKota Auto Pilot? TGG

I just jump at the opportunity to thrash MinnJunka. My motor (50pd) will have to go to the shop for the 4th time. When on constant and I turn right the motor shuts off. Makes it pretty hard to stay on a point in the wind. Tim Price at MinnKota says I'm the only one that has this problem. Hard to believe. What a waste of money.

No genesis experience but I have used minnkota for over 10 yrs with minimul problems. Maybe some of the problems noted are due to poor repair in the first place. I switched once to a motor guide (Auto pilot)--what a mistake. went back to Minnkota and trouble free going on 4 yrs

I have had 4 minkota and just put the 5th one on my new boat (a minkota genesis) used it everyday for 3weeks straight great motor in my opinion I have the 74lbs 24 volt 60" shaft no AP, like all features however it is a lot of money for a trolling motor but i would buy one again in a heartbeat.
