I need to replace the gas lines on my '67 Johnson
outboard. Any tips, suggestions, warnings? Or should I let a marina do the work? Thanks in advance, Mike in E.A.

Easy fix!
Just make sure that you get the exact size line from the auto parts store. I don't think that any of the lines have "crimped" hose, so replacing the line is a matter of cutting off the old and clamping on the new. Are you replacing the line into the motor or just up to the connector?

Hawg,
The motor is a 60hp 4cl, and has 2 carbs. one of the lines to the carbs split, so I trimmed it and tried to reclamp, but hose is so soft it just split again. I figure all the lines are in the same condition, and don't need to lose anymore1.80 per gas(lol). Mike in E.A.
When you get your replacement lines, also insure that you get new clamps as well. If the clamps are plastic - they often break when taking them off or back on -- and if they are metal - they sometimes rust or get deformed when being taken off or being put back on .
Tak care
