Going to fish pymatuning lake in northeast ohio this weekend for the first time in a boat, just wondering if anybody has any hot spots they might be willing to share. Any help with locations or presentations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Brian

Brian,
Keep in mind when fishing Pymatuning that this is a numbers lake and you most likely won't bring home a wallhanger, so don't get discouraged. Don't get me wrong we have certainly caught our share of 20 to 22 inchers this year. We have been fishing North of the causeway and have found eyes are on the sandbars (2 to 4 feet of water). Jigs and large minnows have been hot for us. The secret seems to be using only the upper grub portion of a curly tail, hooking the minnow thru the lips then spinning it around to run the hook under the belly and out the back. Mostly drift fishing over these sandbars. Jig weight is critical as you do not want to have too much line out. Go as vertical as possible, keeping your rod tip at about 45 degrees. Once dark comes we have had success on some bigger eyes casting #13 Rapalas, mostly FireTiger. We have been picking up scattered perch and crappies with some size. Last night (4/19) I fished the South end and we only got six. Going back North this weekend or to 18 to 22 feet of water on the South water. Good luck. Let me know how you do.
