Can someone tell me what is best position for kicer on transom port or starboard? What are pros or cons of each placment?
My kicker is on starboard side (9.9 4 stroke) but I seen a lot of guys with kicker on port side.

I have mine mounted on the port side - reason - it counterbalances the boat when I am fishing alone (dual console).

I have mine on the port side as well - same reason.

My dealer installed it on starboard. I think he was wrong in doing so but it is to late, it is a bit unbalanced when I am alone. Have to put my stuff on port side and take my wife more often. :-)
Thank you

A guy who hangs a ton of em told me...Tiller starboard , remote steering port. clearance of the handle the main issue. My tiller is on the left, and we shimed the handle up so it can't get to the boat ( I steer with an Electro Steere from Panther) works great.

On most transoms...this works best=
Tiller handle kickers go on driver's side , so that there is room to turn the motor without the tiller handle running up against the side of
transom.
Remote control models USUALLY work best on the port side this gives more room for the cables to make the turn around the corner in the transom.
Most often....it is simply a case of where the kicker will actually fit and function correctly
not so much a matter of choice. More a matter of " no-other choice".
Hope that helps
It depends on your application. As stated earlier, for best balance, should be on the port side. I run mine their, however, it is because I am right handed and feel it is important to be able to steer my kicker with my left hand, fish with my right, and never take my eyes off my sonar. Well almost never, need to make sure I don't run into anything. :-) Offers the most versatility for me when backtrolling or control drifting.
