has anybody used the inner cast rods(the with no eyes)if you what is your opinion? thankyou

God forbid you would have to retie your line in the boat without the feed rod. I also think that with wet line the additional friction inside the tube would be greater then a conventional rod with exterior guides.
I have seen these rods you speak of at Cabela's. They tried to sell them with the DepthMaster counting reels as a combo last summer and I don't know what the actual responce was, but I saw more reels then combos walking out the door that day, which makes me think that most people were skepticale about the rods as well. The combo was only $20 more then the reel itself.

I saw a lot of these when they first came out a few years back but see very few in the stores now. My guess is that if they were an advantage, they would have caught on but they clearly have not. I would think there would be a lot of line wearing friction inside the blank as it gets dirty. This would likely wear both line and rod. Can you imagine trying to thread fireline down that blank in 3' waves if you broke off?
