Tough Guy,
I have two matching Legend Elite 5S60MLF's. Buy far the best rod I have ever handled in my life. The rods are extremely light and sensitive. You would think that they could handle a heavy load, but boy do they suprise you.
Go for it! Don't skimp on the reels either.

Tough Guy,
I have a pair of the St. Croix Avids in the 6'6, medium action models and they are great for Lindy-rigging, vertical jigging and even casting cranks and spinnerbaits. I also had a buddy "watch" my second rod as I was fighting a big smallie. He set the rod down on my console seat when he went to net my fish another smallie grabbed the dangling sucker minnow and off through the water went my 6' IMX Loomis. He gave me a St. Croix Legend to replace it and I have to say it's the sweetest rod I have ever used. Go for it--you will love it.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-21-01 AT 09:05AM (CST)[p]i plan to build one for my self soon, (7'0" fast)dollar for dollar it's the best set-up i could find to make in my own custome desire........give it a go or find someone to build exactly how you want it and it'll be cheaper than off the store floor (if the builder dont hose you) good luck. (tckkfam@aol.com if you want to ask anything about custome rods i'll try to help......later)

Good to hear there are more tuffies in the future! I just got an Elite 6 ft medium action to match my GLX 6 ft. medium. I must say that the Elite is smoother than the GLX. I run 6 pound fireline on both. They are both sweet rods and cost about the same. You will enjoy the rod!
