Live Bait Rigs

I've always have hurd that fishing line can go bad sitting over the winter. What about live bait rigs? Every year I make up a bunch, but what about the ones that sit in my tackle box over the winter? What about the ones you buy in the stores. if there still in the package are they still good? Your toughts would be helpful.

Of course, new, fresh line is better , but last years snells will probably still be fine. When in doubt.... try breaking a few. Compare the breaking strength of a new one as compared to your older ones.
