Digital Optimax Question

I've got a fishing friend who does not use the internet much at all. He is planning on trading a 1999 135 Opti. for a digital Opti,, 135 or 150 I would guess. He trolls a lot for stripers and can't get his current Opti. to troll slow enough. I've tried to convince him to just buy a 4 stroke kicker but he doesn't want to consider that.

Has the digital optimax been reliable and does it do what they say it will do,,,,absolute speed control?

225 digital opti on a Triton sf21 at 450 rpms runs at 1.8 mph on my digital opti max gauge,anything slower in rpms the motor will stop after about 10 min. of running.The manual says you shouldn`t run below 440 rpms.Everything has worked fine .
