If you will only use it in the boat and wont need to take it afield I would suggest a unit with a full size screen. Trying to read those small screens while running WOT or bouncing in the rough is hard if not impossible. If possible opt for the removable antenna vs the built in one.
I opted for a small hand held Mapping Unit by Lowrance because I wanted to use it for ice fishing. It's handy BUT, it is sure hard to read when driving the boat, or in bright sunlight. I do wish it had a bigger screen. Really bugs me somtimes. If you will use it mostly for your boat fishing, go with a permanent wide screen model. Don't make the same mistake I did.

The first hand held GPS unit to offer WAAS reception capabilities to my knowledge is Garmins Etrex Legend. Mapping unit with 8 MB of memory. Check out http://www.garmin.com There was an excellent reference to a website and review of the Garmin Etrex handhelds on WC approximately 2 months ago. Might try searching the archives.
