where do you guys attatch(or how) the transducer cable from the trans. on the motor to avoid pinching the cable when raising and lowering the bowmnt, leaving some slack etc. only option? minneman

If you have a MinnKota-
Attach the transducer to power drive unit, tread the cable up through the lifting handle on the tilting mechanism, pull the cable up to the bottom of power head and attach to underside with a screw and small cable clamp, now thread the cable back down the center of the power drive cable (looks like an oversized phone cord), the cable now can be run to the dedth finder. Secure the transducer cable to the power drive head by drilling a hole through the gusset on the topside of unit and attach with a screw and cable clamp. I also used a large cable clamp to guide the cable through the handle. Good Luck.

Plastic wire ties can firmly attach a transducer cable to any shaft. Those things are great to have around!
