Rumor has it that someone pulled a 9.5 pound saugeye out of a local lake last week. If this is verified by the state, it will be a new state record, (IL) beating the old state record of just over 8lbs by a good margin. I know where it was caught, but it seems like that spot is more like fishing in a large bathtub than fishing, as it is a fenced off spillway location that confines the fish to a relatively small area, there is no lacation theory involved, just luck mostly.
Not to say that it isn't a great feat to catch the state record saugeye, just saying that I can't get myself to fish the spillway area of this lake.
I'm sure Scott Richardson can give us all the deatils, I heard there was an article in his newspaper about the event.
See, there are 'eyes in Il,
James
