Was wondering if anyone can tell me what the "ping" option is. It seems to make the screen travel faster and you can definetly hear the transducer clicking faster.
I talked to a rep at lowrance and they told me the PING SPEED is a new feature which can speed up the speed of the sonar to 30 repititions up to 60 feet. Normal is with teh setting at 50% and you have 2 clicks up and 2 clicks down to slow down the rep rate of the sonar. The screen scroll speeds adjusts as well. So now the rep rate of the X-15 is adjustable and the display will scroll up to 30 pixels per second. My jaw dropped.

so is this a new feature that is in a new unit, or is it a downloadable feature on V1.7
Why would your jaw drop at 30 pixels per second,pinpoints is 60 pixels, they have the patent on it? At 30 your 10 to 20 ft past what you just passed over aren't you? How do you like this sonar anyway? Thanks Craig
