Hello all,
A few questions about the Fishfinder 160 Blue, if anyone can help. Garmin never answered the e-mail :(
First, can one view both transducer frequencies at the same time in a split screen, or is it one frequency at a time? Second, I've seen the screen listed as a 4-level grey scale, and as a 4-level blue/green: which is it? Third, the frequency/cone angle information differs by source; ie. Garmin site lists
50/200 kHz (40*/10*), while Cabela's lists 50/200 kHz (45*/20*). So, any idea which is correct? Fourth, how does the second mounting station work with the dual frequency 160 Blue? Is it all you need for a second station, or is the second transducer frequency a "patching" problem? Finally, an increased image update rate is listed as an improved feature: what is the new (and old) update rate (in pixels/second)? Oh, and is the speed sensor more accurate, and less dependent on "calibration?"
These were suppposed to be available at retailers by mid-April; anyone seen one yet?
I like the look of this new version of the 160, but it's tough when the company doesn't answer an e-mail.
Thanks all,
Joe
