Fshed river out of La Salle on canadian side on Sat. and got skunked again for 5th time while fish caught all around me jigging. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I don't have electric motor or kicker is that important to control drift speed? What size line, jig, minnow? Does live bait work best? Any luck with worms this time of year. It's a five hour drive and I'd appreciate any help thankyou.

Hey Guy....You must have boat control. That is the boat must move at the same speed as the current,if not your jig won't be on bottom or it will be 100 yards behind you.Buy a clamp on unit. They are cheap & will get the job done.Next year buy a good foot control.Keep your jig straight under the boat,it's that simple.Sunday I tried by the water intake with the crowd of boats & did not see any caught.Nothing like last year.
