I've may have seen this happen a few years ago last fall. The camp I stayed at had a bunch of guys with 2-3 coolers full of large walleyes (like 26" & up). It was hard to tell if they exceeded the limits as there were so many guys milling about.. it's tough to say who they all belonged to, but it was sad to see that many big fish being filleted. I asked a local bait shop why I never saw the MI DNR around & they said the DNR was too busy with managing the deer hunt to bother with the walleyes. In 12 years of going up to LBdN, I've been checked for my license once. Nice to see they got this group, hope they get a few more.
I would like to see them publish names - maybe the shame factor would be something of a deterrent.

We get lots of newspaper articles like that. It bothers mw every time I see one of them. The publish the names, ages and home towns of offenders here. The Moose violations in the past years are enough to make you sick. As an observation you do not see a lot of young sportsman being charged. Seems the roles are reversed...the young setting an example for the past generation.
Big deal!! It's the same thing that Wisconsin DNR lets happen leagly on the wolf river every year. Only its leagle here.

Poaching is poaching! If you're not happy with the way the DNR opperates then let them know. Get a lot of people with your same views and try to change the Regs.
Paoching takes from the people who follow the rules and regs. it's kind of like me stealing from you or robbing you.
Give them the max!
