Jon, I noticed that you answered a post here about a Ranger with a 23" Tempest. I am wondering what RPM's you are getting and what hole your motor is mounted? I have the same boat and motor combo. as you except I have a 25" Pro Series. The prop was fine last year, but now I have the boat really weighted down with gear and I need more RPM's. Feel free to email me direct if you would like. Thanks.

Scott D,
I believe my motor is mounted on the second hole. I usually can get between 5,800 and 6,000 at about 64-68 m.p.h. with 3 people and full load.

Can't stand it, I have to reply. If you're running a 619 or 620, is'nt 68mph a little bit exagerated?
If you're actually getting it, I'd like to know your exact set up and what you carry for gear and accessories, if you don't mind. Is your speed from the boat speedo, graph or GPS? All three of mine vary by as much as 16 mph. If I go by my graph, I run at 76 mph and my boat speedo only reads 58.
If you know who I am, you know I don't run a Ranger, but I know several who do that I fish with and we run together quite a bit and 60 to about 63 seems to be top end. I run a Tuffy Osprey.
If you're actually running that speed, I really am curious as to how you're getting it, also assuming that you're running a deep V walleye rig.

Terry, the boat we were referring to is the Triton 205 with a Yamaha 225hp. I can get that kind of speed with mine when the gas tanks are below half and empty livewells and 2 people. Loaded down I can't. That's why I was wondering about Jon's setup w/ the Tempest.
