Mixing Gas

Has anyone used one of these units that attaches to the transom and mixes the oil with the gas for the kicker if it's a 2-stroke. I currently have a 4-stroke kicker but am not happy about the weight. The big motor is a Merc 115 2+2 oil injection, I thought about going to straight pre-mix in the main tank for both motors but am not sure if this can be done with the oil injection on the main motor. Carrying an extra gas tank for a 2-stroke kicker is not an option because there is not a good spot to carry it in my boat.

Recently there have been posts about the Mercury Autoblend units (were discontinued by Mercury a few years back) and the problems people have had with them failing, resulting in engine damage from lack of oil. I had one on a '92 Force 150 and had four years with no problems, in retrospect, I was lucky.
Have you tried a 3gallon tank with your 4 stroke kicker? Sometimes you can find somewhere to place the smaller tank, even in or around the splashwell.
