I have purchased a few of the 4-packs of Triple Grips for crankbait hook replacement. I recently ordered a pack of 100 from Netcraft as they were much cheaper than the small packs. I received the hooks and was dissapointed. The ones that I got in small packs were plated (nickel?) and seemed to be a finer wire than the ones I recently received.

1) Did Mustad cheapen the Triple Grip or is this just a lower quality model?

2) Where can you get the "better" hooks in volume?

3) Is there a performance difference between the two?

Thanx for your repsonse!

I use a lot of Triple grip hooks. I started using them several years ago and swear by them. The best prices that I found are at Stamina Quality Components. They come in Bronze or plated finish and in regular length or short shank sizes. I prefer the short shank for most lures. Hope this helps. Larry

Mustad is using their Ultra Point technology this year on T-Grips. Perhaps your 4-packs were Ultra Points and your bulk hooks were last year's model. I think you will find the bulk hooks will be just fine. JC

LUND_DUDE, sorry I can't help with the triple grip hook info. E-mail me. I've got a question about your boat/motor/prop setup.
Thanks, Gregory
