I'm hoping for some help. Last year my brother moved to the Boulder, Colorado area. My wife and I are going to visit him this summer and I'd like to take the boat. Where would I go? What kind of waters do you fish? How do you fish walleye there? Any information would be great. Thanks.

If your going to be in the Boulder area there a few good lakes in the close by area to fish. Cherry Creek, and Chatfield in Denver, and a little North is Boyd Resevoir. I believe we fish Walleye just like anyplace else in the country. We use a lot of lindy rigs, and jigs tipped with minnows or crawlers.
If you have specific questions you can e-mail me at art@pcisys.net.

I'm not limiting myself to just the Denver area. I've got the time and will travel. Where did you have in mind?

Pueblo Res. is just west of the city of Pueblo. Good largemouth, smallmouth, walleye and wiper fishing. The lake also has a good supply of bluegill, crappie and cats. Drop me an e-mail, let me know what you are interested in and I'll try to help you out.

Join the Colorado Walleye Association. They have monthly meetings and tournaments on the better walleye waters in the state. It's a good place to share information and meet other people who fish for walleyes.

I like Bonny Res., which is a three hour drive on I 70 east of Boulder. It is also a good wiper lake. I also have the number of a guide who works Pathfinder, Seminole and Glendo in Wyoming, those resevoirs offer the best fishing in our region.
Dave Kooser already told you about Pueblo Res. If you want to smaple a area with a true Western look , Pueblo is it.
It is a classic western plateu resevoir, only two hours drive from Denver. Hope this helps.

OK I'll be the one that sounds stupid and asks: What's a wiper?

Wiper could be meanest **** fish in the lake. Sometime you have to beat them on the head with an oar just to get the hook out of their mouths. They are a sterile hybrid between a striped bass and a white bass. Boy can they fight!
