I just started fishing cranks the last year or so and I am wondering if anyone can give any pointers or the name of a good book or video on the subject?

The Precision Trolling Book (6th edition) is a fantastic book for crankbaits. You can find it here on Walleye Central's product page.

You didn't say if you were casting or trolling, but it doesn't matter. If your trolling you must have "Precision Trolling" by Mark Romanac. If your casting "Precision Casting" by the same author is available. They are available right here on walleye central under products.
