Sounds like the Dakota's were up to it's old tricks, and pilled the snow up on the PWT this morning. I had to laugh when I got a phone call this morning and all I heard from the broken cell phone was how in the heck do you live out here? I told him it was much better in North Dakota. ;) (Just Kidding) Actually I said wait 10 minutes and the weather will be great. On a lighter note, what is the situation with the river around Red Wing? The water should be OK by the time the PWT rolls in I would think? Good fishing and don't forget to bring your snow shovel! mike

it is in very bad shape and would be hard pressed to think the RCL will be pulled off. those people are reliving grand forks in '97 i feel. www.fishtheriver.com is giving a pretty good play by play of the thing to follow along. thanx again for your reply to my email, you truly are one of the greats in this board.

Heheh....I can hear him now..;-)

Sounds like the weather should be pretty good for the rest of the week though. That's a good thing!

Wishing them all the best of luck out there!

We're still waiting for the word on the LaCrosse RCL event. I'm pretty sure it will be called off due to the river conditions though. I can't see the river going down, now that we have had all this rain and snow out that way. Bummer! I was really looking forward to that one too.

When do you finally get on the water Mike? And I don't mean the frozen ice rink! When and where is your first tourney this season?

Thanks Jeff! I forgot to check that page for updates on the rivers. And thanks for the kind words. Juls, depending on the playoffs (we are down 2-0 in a best of 7 right now :() I will be fishing the PWT in Red Wing later in May. If we are still playing I won't fish a tourney until the PWT on Sakakawea. either way it is a win win situation for me. I hope all is well and yes they were shoveling snow out of the boats this morning! Lol. Good fishing and don't forget to shoot the puck. Mike Peluso #999

Sounds like you should shoot the puck a little more if you are down 2-0. (LOL) Good Luck!

The "informed weather forecasters" are predicting some fine weather for the tourney dates. Good Luck.....

THought you guys might want to hear some interesting news.
I called the Port Authority in St Louis. They are having 2 meetings a day on the flood situation and to quote " The thought of giving a date that we would open the river has never even come up in conversation. To give a date would be impossible (for opening the river) much less if it if there would be no-wake speeds. We are concerned with maintaining the river, the Levy's, and preventing more damage to those homes and businesses along the effected areas."

I'm not sure how soon we'll on the Ol' Miss. Sounds like it might be a while. We now have a second crest coming sometime mid week.

Cross your fingers,
