175 Mercury Optimax

Hey everyone. Thinking about a new boat. Rated for 175. My question is, cant get a straight answer on wether the 175 is based on the 2.5 merc block (150) or the bigger 3.0 (200,225) blocks. Does anyone know? ALso if you have one please let me know how you like it. Thanks in advance.

Hi Phil

The 175 Opti is a 2.5 liter engine. At this time it only available as a 20" engine (ELPTO).
