I would like to pick up a service manual for my engine, and am curious what thoughts are between the manuals from the manufacturer and the aftermarket outfits. I'm not really too worried about a few $$, but would prefer to buy the best one.
Regards
Go with the OEM engine manual.
Techniques, exact specs -- for "your specific" enine -- not a listing of "approximate" for 500 different engines.
Take care

REW, do you know where I can get an OEM manual? Which store or internet site?

Some OEM "paper" manuals aren't available anymore. Yamaha for one. Computerised or microfitch for dealers only. I bought a manual from Twin Cities Outboard in Shackopee for my Johnson 150 when I was there looking for used parts,(for the kids 50hp). The manual was exactly the same as the OEM at a Johnson dealer. I got to study them both in depth as my brother was a mechanic there, and they were exactly the same.
