View Full Version : Trolling rods and reels................
I'm lookin' to set up a couple of line counter rods and reels for this season. Is there such a creature as a left hand retrieve line counting reel? Is a seven foot rod enough, as long as its heavy in the butt and light at the tip? I've got some thundersticks that don't run true............how can I tune them?
Thanks,
Rigs
Daiwa and Okuma are apparently making some rumblings about bringing out a left handed linecounter reel, but as of now, I think it's still 6 months or more away.
A 7 foot rod will be fine, particularly if you run a 15 footer, or less. Just make sure it's got enough "give" if you're running superline.
Need to tune your Thunderstick? If the lure is veering to the left, you want to gently, and very slightly, bend the lip to the right, using a pair of needlenose pliers. (The lure's right, that is.) Do the reverse if it veers off to the right. The trick is to hardly bend the lip at all, and keep making tiny adjustments until it runs straight and true.
Good fishin'...
Thanks Mike, I'll let you know how everything falls together, Rigs
Rigs : Don't bend the lip of the crankbait to try to tune it . BEND THE LINE TIE EYE .
Why did I say lip????? Line tie is correct!
Dooohhhh!!!!!!!!
