I was thinking about using a carpet cleaner on my boat carpeting is this a good idea?

Just did mine with a Rug Doctor and the upolstery attatchment. It came out pretty good. Not much more time than a good vacuming. I still dislike carpet in a boat!

I take my boat to the car wash and soap it and then use the clear water and really wash it down. The carpet then looks like new. Let the sun dry and it is like new.
