Home fishing waters are in the Delaware River system above Trenton, NJ which is rocky, shallow, sandy and small pools. The boat has a 90hp yammy with a jet drive lower unit. This motor just guzzles gas.

Am considering changing the lower unit to a prop type and would appreciate any and all info to this situation. Just what type of expense, time and parts am I getting myself into.

Thanks to all who respond........Stotch

You will have about 1500 bucks into a lower unit. Plus, you will need to lower the engine approximately 5 inches.
Then, start paying for prop rebuilds and lower unit damages.
How much gas does it burn?
