Why do these units both claim 1 inch target separation in the brochure when they both have the same # of watts and the 7820 has 320 vertical pixels vs. the 240 for the 7420?
I haven't seen the ads or literature you speak of, but any scope can show 1" target separation in some depth of water.
With 240 vertical pixels, you can show 1" separation (1 pixel separation) in 20 feet of water -- each pixel is 1 inch at that depth.
With 320 vertical pixels, you can show 1" separation (1 pixel separation) in 26' 8" of water -- each pixel is 1 inch at that depth.
Heck, if you only had 24 vertical pixels, you could show 1 inch separation too -- in 2 feet of water!
You can confuse the issue even more by specmanship around the "zoom" function.
It's all in the marketing department!
