I have had it. I am looking how to keep from breaking the support on my kickermotor. I was gonna build my own support, but saw the one one the products page here. Any other ideas? I saw a guy at teh Illionois River a week or so back that use a board and a bungy cord to strap his kicker down. He said it worked good, but I want something a little stronger that will last a while. I used the one that Mercury makes for inside the existing bracket but that one broke too. Made of plastic! Has anyone used the bracket pro? What are your feelins about it's quality? This looks like a good one. I amgonna call the company Monday.

I personaly could'nt say anything positive or negative about the bracket pro, but I was having the same kind of problems with my kicker and I went with a panther model 35 and I'm very satisfied.

I went with the CMC lift after trying the Panther for one year. Works good for me. A ratchet strap that keeps the motor tight to the lift for in big waves is a good add on. Use a "Boat Buckle" as they retract and store themselves when not in use.

Thanks guys. I have looked into those brackets too. They are great but I do not want to go with a mechanical bracket. I am sure they have preformed well for you, but I want to keep things simple. I also dont want to have to ad another battery or hydralic pumps or anything like that.

I had the same problem with the bracket on my 9.9hp. 4 stroke. I went with the Panther 35 Auxiliary Lift 3 years ago and I have not had a single problem. Not only has the Panther lift supported and protected my motor and bracket in rough water but the convenience of a remote lift is a great feature.

JUST WANTED TO GIVE MY INPUT. I PUT A 7.5 HP LONGSHAFT ON A 15 HP MANUAL BRACKET AND IT WORKS FINE. THE THING THAT I DO THOUGH IS WHEN THE MOTOR IS UP(TRAILERING, SPEEDING TO FISHING SPOT), I TIE A MOORING LINE TO THE MOTOR AND A CLEET TO TAKE THE TENSION OFF THE BRACKET AND MAKE SURE THE MOTOR NEVER FALLS OFF AND THE BRACKET DOESN'T GET STRESSED.

I have a stainless steel bracket pro kicker support for sale it is less than 6 months old and in excellent condition complete with stap and instructions. It works fine but I just got on Panthers Pro staff and order a hydraulic lift so I don't need it anymore. It was $150 new will sell it for $100. e-mail me at bayside@ufw2.com if interested.
