Handles for Storage Compartment Covers.

I keep breaking the plastic handles on the storage compartment covers on my Pro-V. Have any of you guys changed them to metal or anything else more durable. They seem to really become brittle in cold weather. Is it a do it yourself type of job or something the dealer should take care of? Also, are they available from Lund directly if at all,or are they available somewhere else? Thanks

Sure have,I replaced mine with a flat aluminum plate, about 1/16" thick and about 1.5" X 3". Drill holes threw the cover and put small flat headed bolts in with washer under the lid.. Over hang the edge of the hole about a half inch. I must have broke a dozen of them in the fall and early spring when door freeze shut. Then I put these on.Have not had any problems since.
