Only hydraulic tiller system i know of is the Pro Tiller System thats made by Troy LaTour at Warrior Boats. You can see it on thier website at www.sunpatio-warriorboats.com I ran it last year think it's th best thing since the gps. Push button steering is great.

You have to tip your hat to Troy, and Pete at Warrior. They take the tiller market very seriously and develope products that the market is calling for. I'm disappointed Mercury isn't doing the same. I to would like to be able to order a motor from Mercury with a tiller handle and hydraulic steering. Whats up Merc?

Rigger,
I too had heard talk of other tiller steer systems. After talking to represenitives of Mercury over the weekend I was dissapointed to hear that they will not be offering any tiller steering systems this year. Seems they have little interest in expanding sales into the larger tiller motors. Tom.

Theres were a couple guys from Canada at the RCL last fall. They were running Crestliners with 150 and 200 type tiller set up. It kind of looked like something from Star Trek, but it was a neat set up.I dont know for sure who they were but someone out there would.

I did call Merc, to day. Talked with a factory marketing manager. He said that He knows of no plans for Merc,to vencher in to Hydraulic steering on tillers. That with as tight as the market is thay would have to prove to them selfs that it would be some thing that thay could make a profit with befor thay would even consider It. I have some thoughts on that but not to say. From what I am finding out on this it would be a great thing for most all tillers not just the big ones. Like staying at Sugar Point on leach and wanting to go to the narrows. When you got there you could hold you rod and not have to put in a holder.
Thanks

You must have come away from your conversation with Mercury just shaking your head. I wonder what market share Mercury would have if they were the only outboard company to offer hydraulic steering on their tillers? Which would you buy? How tough would it be to buy the system from Warrior, put a part number on it, and offer it as an option?

That was kinda my thoughts. What part of market share dont they understand. I did talk with another compney in Canada this after noon. I wish that I still had there name with me to night. But my Bride being the tidy little thing that she is tidyed my note in file 13 and out the door be for I knew it. Well I can not blame her. Anyway thay have a marine division, that makes boat steering sustems. They do not make hydraulic for tillers but do manufacture hydraulic remote steering. And I will tell you this guy was falling all over him self on what I was telling him about a tiller system. He wanted my home and work phone number and said he would be getting back with me very soon. I dont know what he is thinking but I hope it's good.
Hoping for good news
