Mike Gofron, Professional Anlger and multiple title holder, is the official spokesperson for Optima Batteries. He would be more than happy to speak with you directly about the batteries and can reach him at his home number. He is very interested by the technology, being a coiled gel battery, which can be installed anywhere in a boat and virtually waterproof. Check out the Optima batteries web site for more information. I believe it is optimabatteries.com. Good Luck!

I am running OPTIMA's in my boat this year and I chose them for their outstanding features like light weight, fast recharge, completely sealed design, long life, and their ruggedness. They are virtually indestructable. The number one cause of battery failure other than neglect is vibration and these batteries can take a pounding. Check out all their fine features and advanced technology at

OPTIMA's are the premium battery in the premium battery market.

Just like the previous post, fantastic battery. This is a compact and light battery that re-charges quickly and is designed to take the pounding that boats take when fishing big water. If you look at Bass Pro or Cabelas catalogs it will show you some comparisons of the specs vs other batterys that they sell. Its not a wide range but it will give you an idea.

I agree will all of the above posts. I have 3 in my boat, 2 deep cycle D900M's set up in a 24 v config powering a Pinpoint trolling motor and a 1000M starting. Recharge with a Guest 2623. Troll all day - recharges extremely fast. Have used these batteries in racing -the pounding of a Walleye boat in 4 footers is nothing compare to what these batteries can take. You will not be disappointed with the purchase. From what I remember Cabelas was cheaper on the deep cycles but Boats US was cheaper ($20 less) on the starting.
