A couple things: first of all I would like to congratulate Delta Marine in Columbus, Ohio and Fisher Boats for treating me very well. Last fall, the hull on my 99' Hawk 170 failed and the boat had to be returned to Fisher. Although I was without my boat for almost 3 months, this weekend Delta Marine called and told me that my new 2001 model boat and new 2001 trailer were in. Needless to say, I was very pleased that they replaced the entire outfit with a new and improved hull and trailer instead of trying to stick me with a repaired hull or some old hull that they might have had laying around. Secondly, now that I have my boat back, I'm thinking of getting a new prop for it. It currently has a 21" 3-blade Turbo on it. I can turn about 4800-4900 rpm's with this prop. My motor is a 2000 model Merc 115. I would like to get the rpm's up a little bit and improve my holeshot. Top speed is not all that importand since most of my fishing is done on Lake Erie. Any suggestions for a prop that will meet my needs? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

A good starting point for a Merc 115 on most 17' aluminum boats is a 17" pitch prop, but since you're already into the low end of the recommended rpm range for that motor (which if I remember correctly is 4750-5250 rpm WOT) a 19" might work better.
