What are pssesion limits on ohio part of Erie? 4/day I understand, but if we go for 2 or 3 days do we bring home 4 or 8-12 for the trip?

4 fish limit changes to 6 on Wednesday. You can take home each days limit unlike possesion limits like Wisconsin where you can only have one or two day limit in possession.
sunshine I had a talk with the ohio game warden abuot this subject. The fishing laws you get when you buy your licsense saids the posseion limit is 6. that means you can have only have six walleyes per licsense inyour household. The game warden said he's not going to follow you to your house an check your frezzer but if they ever had to come to your house with a search warrent for someother reason then you would be in trouble. In another word he's hot to consern about it.

Phil,
Thanks for the info. I checked their web page and you seem to be correct. I've been fishing there for years and everyone keeps telling me to take home each days limit. I travel back through 3 states and would hate being stopped. WOW, we always have our fish professionally cleaned to avoid hassle because of hotel rooms. People have seen us taking 100 fish home at times w/ no mention (please don't rip on me about catch and release issues, those who know Erie know I'm not hurting the fishery). Even when I've gone out with charter captains they hepled us "load Up" past the possession limit! I'm bummed!
With my luck the Ohio DNR can get my home address and plate numbers from the walleyecentral Site admin here at walleyecentral and I'll be busted entering the state this year. You know "THEY" have access to IP address from every post - so we need to play nice and legal!;-)
I really hope that this doesn't turn into one of the famous B***h sessions that we've been experiencing lately.
Please forgive me fish gods and Ohio DNR

what else would you expect... "loading over 100 of Ohio's walleyes into my car etc... people continue to act like we can't hurt the erie fishery when the fishing has been getting worse every year for the past decade.. amasing.

i think that may be a new rule to go along with the new limit.
i was always amazed that the erie limit was 10 per day and
10 for each day you were there.....
