I have a x85 mounted in the back of my boat ( 19' tiller ) and would like to run a second graph / flasher for the guy up front ( so he doesn't have to ask how deep is it ). I have a Zercom clear water classic but the x85 interfears with it. What other kind of graph / flasher would not interfear with the x85 running at the same time.
Thanks for the help.
you must find a sounder that runs at a different frequency. Most are 200 Khz, Zercoms I believe are 192, but that's not a big enough difference. Probaly down around 160 would be ok. No clue where to send you. hope this helps, good luck.

I might be all wet here just going on memory from previous posts I've read here and also from my manual on my x85. I beleive you can add a SAM unit to the x85 and run a lower frequency and not interfere with the other unit. Seems they were quite pricey but cheaper than replacing a sonar.

Gilligan, you're right on. The SAM-1 unit will allow the 50Khz transducer ( a monster in size) to run with an x-85. A side benefit is that you get a 36 degree cone angle, which means you scan a wider swath as you boat passes overhead.
I just finished buying the 50Khz transducer a couple of weeks ago (already had the SAM-1 given to me as a gift) Hope to try it out if the new boat ever gets here! AArg!!
50 Khz is very different when compared to 200 Khz. Very little detail. bait doesn't want to mark, no thermoclines. It's a much wider cone angle also, so understand you will mark alot more large fish (bigger window). It is a way to get a second unit going, but it has some draw backs.

Snickers, big time watts= big timefeed back and forth between graphs. More definition on screen at higher speeds but the bottom your reading is well behind you and "too late" anyhow.Mark Martin brought this up at one of his seminars. You can get reasonable definition with as little 275 wattS to depths of 100+ and Eagle and Lowrances at the same 192hz and different wattages 275&600, below 600 watts do not interfer with each other, and transducers intermingle etc. Use to be ya bought 3000 watts to ward of the Humming bird units not your own.
Fishin the packs, quitely yes.
