Recently bought a used Ranger 690VS, it didn't come with any accessories. would like everyones input on what accessories (electronics, trolling motor, kicker, rod holders ect) to purchase and the best places to put them on my rig.

1. The electronics: Get the best you can afford, My preference would be a lowrance model. ($600.00) 2. Get the most powerful bow mount you can afford. They all do the same thing some have more bells and whistles.($1200.00) 3. I would suggest getting a 4 stroke 9.9hp that is the same brand name as your big motor.($2800.00) 4. On your Ranger there are several ways of mounting rod holders. My prefernce hands down would be the Ram mount rod holders coose the base that wil do the least amount of damage to the boat($400.00). As you can see rigging a boat is not an inexpensive issue. Get the best now while your doing your rigging cause nobody's gonna want to buy your mistakes at the price you paid for them. The moral of the story "get what you want when you get what you need" my 2 cents Jeff

I agree with the last post with a few more ideas. Mount the kicker on a panther lift. It will save you monry in the long run. You will not break your kicker brackets. The ram rod holders can be mounted on the inside of the gunnels and still reach over the rails. A nice setup. Rangers are nice to rig because the factory installs places to run the wiring anywhere in the boat. Take the boat on the water before you start to make sure of the locations. I have an article on my "pro page" at this site that may be helpfull.
