My initial reaction was no, but now I'm starting to wonder. Does anybody have insight to possible negative consequences? Please advise. Thanks for all replies.

If your tires are out of balance they will shake and cause premature wear just as they would on your car. Yes, they should be balanced.

You bet!!! I brought home a brand new boat and trailer and it shook like crazy all the way. First thing I did was balance the trailer tires, made a HUGE difference. Take them to a reliable tire store with a computer spin balancer (not a bubble balancer) It will be worth the $$$ spent.

Just Do It! Yoy will never be sorry. Even if your tires are close enuf to correct bal. to not feel a vibration the increase in tire life will more than pay for itself. Some tire shops cannot fit certain trailer rims to their balancer Keep trying or find a truck shop that can balance them right on the trailer.

Hey, those tires are going just as fast as your tow-vehicle tires, and without benefit of shocks! All that vibration is going right to your boat, shaking out screws on your motor, loosening rivets, scrambling your electronics, and flaking the plates on your batteries.

Now are ya gonna balance them? ;-)
