looking at 125 hp, which motor would you prefer and why? Thanks...shelton
Not sure of the Yami, but for Merc, we ordered a 125 originally and then upped it to the 150 efi (this was before Optimax). We are really glad we did. If the hull you are putting it on takes up to 135, I'd personally go for the 135 Optimax.
I'm a Merc fan, and our research showed the 125 to be a good motor. I do know the 135 has tons more ummph and is extremely reliable and strong. Not much different than a 150...

I have a 2000 Merc 125 and love it. I have an 18 ft warrior and it will handle the boat in all conditions. It even will back troll without any problem. I have thought about going bigger and to a Honda for fuel and emission reasons, but am getting some advice not to. I believe you would be more than satisfied.
