I just received letters from the bankrupcy court regarding my two new 2001 Evinrude engines. I'm wondering if I have become a creditor in this matters relative to the two year warranty? Does anyone know? Perhaps "Doc" could shed some light on this subject. How about it "Doc", are you out there?
They were massed mailed out to all employees, dealers, and customers. After the dust settles on the Bankruptcy issue and Bombardier settles with former employees over pensions, severance, etc. I would hope they honor warranty claims, I read a post on the lighthouse that stated dealers were told that instock motors were covered by warranty and to go ahead and sell. To keep current on OMC issues go to http://www.geocities.com/omcnews/ to keep updated, but please read the post before you post as the former employees have more at stake than you or I...

Gods speed and stay dry.
I understand that Genmar Corporation stated that they would honor all Evenrude ( spelling ? ) and Johnson motor warranties. Sounds like Genmar may buy these companies.
Hey Michman, If you not planning on suing OMC, throw the letter away, it means nothing. They are giving the people, dealers with promised rebates, people with warranty problems that were not settled before bankruptcy, things like that, an opportunity to get their money back, or at least part of it, before the new regime takes over. I havn't seen or read one of those letters so it's not my place to speculate as to their significance. Sorry.
