What I need to know if Mariner's still in business and making motors. Are the parts inter-changeable with Mercury. Anyone had a 225 hp Mariner Optimax? Had any problems? Are they recommended?

I have a 75hp Mariner and I have been told that Mariner, Mercury and Force motors were all pretty much the same motors made by the same company. I do have a few Mercury parts on my Mariner now and they fit and work fine. I will be watching your post for answers to this question also. Good luck..

mercury&mariner are identical engines. only difference is the paint color. mariner was available in the u.s but now is sold in canada only.
